The Gardens are host to a Spring and Late Summer flower show ever year, there is a regular programme of brass bands, every Sunday afternoon and events which are puplicised locally. The 1.5 acre cottage garden is situated in an attractive rural location adjacent to the Trent and Mersey Canal. Clustered around the cottage are a number of small gardens divided by hedges and trellis, each devoted to a different theme. Towards the canal are large herbaceous borders and a formal pond. The garden boasts over 2,500 varieties of plants and is a riot of colour from May to the end of August. Adjoining the garden is a 3 acre wildflower meadow (at its best in June), bluebell woodland and a well stocked nursery.

Cholmondeley Castle Garden is said by many to be among the most romantically beautiful gardens they have seen. HAMILTON SQUARE GARDENS

Built originally as private gardens for the residents of the Square, these beautiful gardens were opened to the public in 1903. From Spring through to Winter, the gardens present an ever-changing vista of colour and shade. In the shadow of the superbly restored buildings of the Square, sit a while on one of the benches in the garden and simply watch the world go by. There are plenty of coffee and tearooms in the vicinity for refreshment.

With spacious lawns, picnic areas, play area, children's zoo, heritage centre and outdoor games it is the ideal place for a family day out. Home to much more than just our busy squirrels, you may even be lucky enough to spot a weasel. More easily seen are woodland birds such as nuthatches, tree creepers and woodpeckers. Evening wldlife includes bats, foxes and owls.
