My dad was born and grew up in Tatton St. Chorley. My mother was born and grew up in Horwich. I was born in Chorley and left with my family to America in 1953 when I was only eight months old. I have just returned from visiting the Lancashire area...was searching for ancestral roots...found them at Newsham Hall on Newsham Hall Lane north of Woodplumpton and west of Broughton Enjoyed our stay at Guys Thatched Hamlet in Bilsborrow also. I'm a descendent of William Newsham who first migrated to Ireland from Newsham Hall in 1630 and from there to Jamestown, Virginia in 1635. Its kinda nice knowing from whence you came. Preston and Lancashire are really nice places.
